The first hurricane to threaten the Gulf Coast is officially here. Dolly, was upgraded to a Category 1 today is expected to make landfall tomorrow in Southern Texas. Mom, before you worry, it is far from me and Houston will likely only get rain. As you can see from the picture, Houston (the shaded area) is pretty far north from where Dolly will make landfall. But with all the media attention in regards to hurricane preparedness, I had to look at how prepared I would be if one were to hit the Houston Area. As of this evening, I would only have 2 small bottles, sorry make that 1 (I was thirsty after I found them), a couple of cans of black beans, a can of peaches, some instant milk, no candles (they are all used up), no flashlight, no radio (except my clock radio which has no batteries), and plenty of cat food for the little ones. Aren't I prepared enough?
